This is the end

There are so many things that can be said about this movie and hilarious is definitely one of

those things.Who doesn't like a movie with their favorite stars playing the role themselves of course with the addition of an apocalypse? This is not your average  squeaky clean comedy, it doesn't lack explicitness, drugs and sexual imagery and references. The film centers around actors Jay Baruchel, Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson and Danny McBride. 

Jay Baruchel arrives in LA for a fun weekend with his friend Seth Rogen which literally turns into hell on earth. They go to a house party hosted by James Franco where there are many other celebrities in attendance including Mindy Kayling, Rihanna, Kevin Hart, Emma Watson, Michael Cera to name a few.

Jay and Seth leave to go get cigarettes because Jay feels uncomfortable at the party among the celebrities as he feels out of place. Suddenly while in the store there is an earthquake then a beam of blue light comes down and sucks people up. The two panic and return to Franco’s house, which to their surprise the party seems to be in full swing and no one believes their story. Another tremor rocks the house and everyone runs outside and sees the chaos that is happening.  A crater opens up and many of the party guests fall into the hole and plummet to

their deaths. Jay manages to save himself and climbs out of the crater where he rejoins Seth, James, Craig and Jonah back in the house.

 Danny Mcbride wakes before everyone not knowing what happened the night before and uses up most of the food to make breakfast as a friendly gesture. They use their time to bond through the use of drugs and filming an at home sequel to The Pineapple Express.

Things start to unravel as Danny begins to feel to restricted by house rules and secrets are revealed which affects the comradery. When Seth backs out of going to find food after he loses the match stick pull, Jay and Craig volunteer to go. After finding food in a nearby house Jay tries to convince Craig that they should stay in that house and not return to Jonah, James and Seth but Craig refuses stating that they are his friends. When they return to the house after being chased by a demon they find Jonah possessed and attacking Seth and James. They knock Jonah out and tie him to the bed as Jay tries to perform an exorcism but is stopped by Seth then they both get into a fight. During their fight it is revealed that James has been hiding food and not sharing with the rest which sparks more argument and questions the friendships. 

The four are forced to leave the house after they are run out by Jonah who is on fire. Craig sacrifices himself to allow James,Seth and Jay to get away by distracting a demon. As he is about to be attacked he is saved and sent to heaven. James, Seth and Jay are captured by cannibals whose leader is non other than Danny who is no longer interested in their friendship after being sent out of the house. James sacrifices himself for Seth and Jay to escape but as he is about to be saved he commits a sin and is dropped back and is eaten by Danny and his cannibals. Seth and Jay are finally saved when they are able to put aside their selfishness and think and show their genuine care for each other.

 As they reach heaven they are greeted by Craig who welcomes them into a party already happening. The movie end with everyone participating in a dance number led by The Backstreet Boys.
The reality of friendships they don't all stick around in the end.
